Stranded fields

Onshore in the Netherlands and offshore in the Dutch part of the continental shelf, a number of oil and gas accumulations have been identified that, for various reasons, were never developed. A brief analysis of these stranded fields (currently 63) shows that these gas fields contain an average of 1.4 BCM of gas, amounting to a total of approximately 80 BCM of gas, and, given favourable to good economic conditions, potentially 35 - 45 BCM of recoverable gas reserves.

Fact sheets providing key data on individual stranded fields have been prepared for the Ministry of Economic Affairs. These fact sheets are intended to provide technical information on the fields to interested parties, with the aim of encouraging new initiatives to develop these fields in the future.

Information on individual stranded fields, including the estimated gas-in-place volume and gas composition, can be found in the fact sheets below. Available data for the wells listed in these fact sheets can be downloaded or ordered from TNO.
